Mahoney Builders landscaped by Charles Gale and Associates, ASLA Interior Design by Florence Hawkins, AID. Designed, constructed, landscaped and decorated 2001 to 2004.Construction is 2 feet thick poured concrete (steel re-enforced) underground walls 10 feet deep on top of which are 12 x 8 concrete block to roof apex, surfaced by custom made over-sized 8 x 4 Monticello brick to roof apex, backed by two running courses of 6 X 6 wood studs with double insulation, and 5/4 drywall. Interior ceiling height is 16 feet on first floor except for the family room where the ceiling height is 25 feet. Lower level ceiling height is 10 feet except in the movie theater where the ceiling height is 14 feet. Second floor ceiling height is 12 feet except in master bedroom where it is 16 feet. Attic ceiling height is 10 feet. All exterior window and door surrounds are custom made limestone. All windows are custom made Colby windows. Roof is slate. Roofs over front entrance and pavillons are copper with all downspouts also being copper. Hardwood floors throughout entire house including all closets. Forced hot air heat and air conditioning with all three heaters, air conditioners and outside heat exchangers new in 2019. Kitchen, family room, back entrance hall, family first floor powder room and greenhouse/potting room are also in addition heated via in-floor radiation conduction heat. Second floor master bathrooms and closets are also in addition heated via in-floor radiation heat. There are four garages. The garage floors are also heated with in-floor radiation conduction heat. Custom over sized crown moldings and baseboards throughout the house. Custom plaster moldings throughout the house. Custom fireplaces (herring bone brick lined) throughout house including carved marble and yellow onyx fireplace (living room), carved Honduran mahogany fireplaces (library and breakfast room), carved limestone fireplace (family room) and carved painted fireplace (master bedroom). All fireplaces are both wood burning or gas burning with auto controls. Family room has two overhead ceiling fans and each outdoor pavilion has an overhead ceiling fan as well as the lower level sitting room. All ceiling fans have auto controls. Wet and dry bars in entrance foyer are custom carved yellow onyx. Hot water heater (125 gallon) replaced new in 2019. Electric service is 600 amps.
